Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Success also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet saved four initial opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
